Nancy Mackin's Story
My GBMC story starts with two numbers: 164 and 864. These were the numbers given to my two sons by the In Vitro Center in the early years of 1988 and 1992. In 1988, I became pregnant with my first child, and the GBMC In Vitro Center was successful with 100 births. My son became successful birth number 164.
In 1991, I returned to the In Vitro Center hoping to have a second child. My second son, born in 1992, was successful birth number 864. We returned a couple times for In Vitro Center family reunions and celebrations, and our family appeared in Life Magazine as part of a huge photo taken on the lawn.
GBMC made it possible for me to be a mother of two wonderful young men, and I will be forever grateful. The compassion and expertise of my doctors, Drs. Garcia and Padia, and their wonderful staff made these miracles possible.
My boys have grown into handsome and successful young men. Alex, my oldest, works for Baltimore City in Fleet Management and will become the father of a son of his own in June. Sean, my youngest graduated from Salisbury University with two degrees and is currently attending Law School at William & Mary. I am a very grateful and proud momma thanks to GBMC.
