Jim Albrecht's Story
I was a GBMC patient for knee replacement surgery, torn rotator cuff surgery and several hernia repairs. The care I received and the wonderful outcomes of those procedures were excellent. However, the greatest personal satisfaction experience at GBMC came when I was a member of the Volunteer Auxiliary Board.
During my Board tenure the Volunteer Auxiliary was able to contribute $1,000,000 toward the expansion and upgrading of the Neurology Center, and more than $1.5 million for Gilchrist Kids, Get Well GBMC and other important patient care projects. It was truly a memorable "give back" experience!
Simply put, my "new knee" enabled me to keep playing golf in my retirement years. Unfortunately the new knee did not help improve my score!
