Jacki Smith's Story
On January 22, 1988, my husband and I found out I was expecting twins. I was 35 weeks pregnant at the time! The boys were born eight days later. We had two infants in the NICU for 11 and 12 days, and a six-and-a-half-year-old at home. There was a great support system for all of us at GBMC!
Little did we know, we would bring the twins back numerous times over the years for many “mishaps.” The ER nurses and docs were as wonderful as the NICU staff had been.
Much to my mother’s chagrin (she was a St. Joe’s employee!), GBMC has always been our first choice for medical care. Fortunately, the boys all grew up healthy and the ER visits were fewer! I am happy to continue to support the work done here.
Because of GBMC I have three adult sons – all healthy and happy – and I also have two grandchildren now and am enjoying watching son #1 “live the adventure”!
