Diane Brockwell's Story
I had infertility issues and went to Dr. Ted Baramki. After discussing my options with my doctor, he felt my best option was in vitro fertilization. In 1988, I was under the care of Dr. Padilla and Dr. Garcia. In November 1988, I became pregnant through IVF on my first attempt. August 12, 1989, I delivered a healthy baby boy – he weighed 8.5 pounds and was 20.5 inches long.
If it wasn't for GBMC, my son would not be here. They made my experience such a great one. In addition, several years ago I had a hysterectomy at GBMC and Dr. Grumbine was my doctor. The staff and doctors through both experiences were incredible.
Because of my experience at GBMC, I got to have the experience of raising a child and watching him grow into a nice young man. For the first 18 years of my son's life, I worked and played mom. It was all about my son and not about me. He was my only priority. I spent so much time on the baseball fields because he was so involved in baseball and I had the experience of traveling all over parts of Baltimore and other states. I cannot image what my life would have been without my son.
