Deborah Kmieciak's Story
My mom gave birth to my brother in 1941 and to me in 1952 at The Women's Hospital in Baltimore. She always praised the hospital and staff. In 1978 and 1982 I gave birth to my two daughters at GBMC. I had the best doctors during both: for my first birth, Drs. McCosh and McGovern, then for the second birth I had Dr. Khouzami.
On July 14, 2014, my first grandson was born at GBMC. My daughter has diabetes, and the staff was so wonderful and all went well. My grandbaby, David, had to go to the NICU for about a week, and I cannot say enough about the doctors and nurses that cared for him. He is now seven months old and is becoming a big boy!
On October 21, 2014, my second grandson was born three weeks early, also at GBMC. Baby Jonathan weighed in at seven pounds, ten ounces, so he got to go home in a couple of days. As I was waiting, I reminisced about my daughters’ births and was hopeful for these two little boys.
With the great care, and staff that really cares, I will always have a special place in my heart for GBMC. Who knows, we may be back again. These two boys will go on to do wonderful things because they got such a great start to their lives at GBMC.
