Daphene Willis's Story
My son, James, was born at GBMC, and at the time of his birth he was only two pounds, four ounces. Soon after his birth, he had a hernia operation and got down to weighing just one lb and 10 ounces. Thanks to the great staff at GBMC, he survived. This year, James will be graduating high school at 17 years old and will be going to college next fall.
My son has a love for animals and hopes to become a veterinarian or someone that works with animals. He is a great soccer player – has been playing since he was four years old – and got honors in his mason class. James hopes to live a long, healthy and happy life. This past year he got his driver’s license and a part time job. I am very proud of him, and very thankful for all that the staff did so he could survive. Thank you, GBMC!
